Chatuchak Weekend Market

One of the world's largest weekend markets with over 15,000 stalls.

Hours: Saturday & Sunday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Getting There: BTS Mo Chit or MRT Chatuchak Park Sections: Clothing, home decor, antiques, art, plants, pets, food Tips:

  • Go early before it gets too hot
  • Wear comfortable shoes
  • Bring cash (many stalls don't take cards)
  • Use the JJ Mall nearby for air-conditioned breaks

Khao San Road

The famous backpacker street with food, shopping, and nightlife.

Hours: 24/7 (busiest after 6 PM) Getting There: Taxi or boat to Phra Arthit Pier Food Highlights:

  • Pad Thai vendors
  • Fresh fruit smoothies
  • Fried insects (for the adventurous)
  • Mango sticky rice

Chinatown (Yaowarat)

Bangkok's oldest neighborhood and best night food market.

Best Time: Evening, after 6 PM Getting There: MRT Wat Mangkon or Hua Lamphong Must-Try:

  • Shark fin soup (ethical concerns noted)
  • Roasted duck and pork
  • Bird's nest desserts
  • Fresh seafood at Soi Texas

Asiatique Night Market

Modern riverside night market with dining and shopping.

Hours: 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM daily Getting There: Free shuttle boat from Sathorn Pier Features: Riverfront dining, Ferris wheel, Calypso cabaret

Must-Try Street Food

Pad Thai

Stir-fried rice noodles with egg, tofu, peanuts, and lime. Price: ฿40-80

Som Tam

Spicy green papaya salad (can be very spicy!). Price: ฿40-60

Mango Sticky Rice

Sweet rice with fresh mango and coconut cream. Price: ฿50-100

Boat Noodles

Rich, flavorful noodle soup served in small bowls. Price: ฿15-25 per bowl (eat several!)
